WHO IS THIS FOR?

Why Choose Us?

With over 30 years football experience the Australian Academy Of Football came about with two main things in mind:

  • To teach young footballers (8-14yrs old) the basic fundamentals of football which is how to control, pass and shoot a ball with both feet.
  • For players and parents to have fun and be part of a footballing family rather than just another number. Too many times do we see parents and kids lose interest in the sport due to politics, favouritism and bad environments. We ensure at the AAF that everyone feels apart of the AAF family and will share these memories for the rest of their lives.

SERVICES

At Australian Academy of Football, we believe that we can make a dramatic difference in improving your children’s football skills in less than three months’. We offer a range of services designed to advance performance on and off the pitch – our most popular being our 10-week development program. We also provide our intense technical 1 on 1 program with Head Coach Bill Galanis.”

Our unique three-tiered approach to skill development targets the most crucial aspects of a childs’ football experience – namely: how to control, pass and shoot a ball with both feet. And while football is our focus, we are equally passionate about instilling the right values into children from a young age to help them mature positively. The team at AAF understand the challenges faced by parents to accommodate their children’s interests and passions. For these reasons, our training sessions are scheduled at regular and convenient time slots to encourage routine and minimise disruption on your family’s plans and your clubs football schedules.

Well-thought-out and prepared in advance, our academy training sessions are designed to maximise your child’s experience while in attendance. Mindful of the commitment made by parents to support their children, AAF also aims to ensure an adult-friendly experience for those attending. We truly believe in the concept of the “football family” and so parents are encouraged to stay and mingle with other adults and enjoy the comfortable seating and light refreshments also available, as they support their young aspiring footballers through the sessions.

In addition to AAF’s program, our services also extend
to seasonal holiday clinics. Combining inspiration from the international experiences of our own in-house coaches (including tournaments in Germany, France, Italy, England, Malaysia, Thailand and Borneo) and customising them to an Australian landscape has seen AAF’s holiday football clinics recognised as one of the best.

Held across a two-day period (three hours each day), these skill-focused clinics offer an intense yet fun opportunity to challenge football lovers in a range of fundamentals of the game. These include ball control, ball passing, ball shooting, one-on-one drills, two-touch game work, and a mini-tournament. While these holiday soccer camps utilise a number of teaching methods, their primary goal is to test players’ abilities and challenge them to consider a new approach to training – different to how they might traditionally play with their regular team – all while ensuring kids have fun while they are doing so.

To complement the experience, all players will receive an exclusive Holiday Skills Clinic T-shirt along with healthy refreshments and snacks provided throughout each day. If you are looking at getting out and allowing your child to kick a ball during the holiday break then look no further than the AAF Holiday Skills Clinic.

FAQ's

What am I getting for my money?

Your children will learn and develop the bare basics of football which are how to control, pass and shoot the ball with both feet. Without the basics being taught and mastered from young, players won’t be able to progress and shine on the pitch once they are older.

Why should I take my child to a football academy?

Taking your kid to a football academy allows your kid to be trained by coaches that are there for your child development and growth. An academies primary goal is to enable your child to develop critical life and football skills. The extra training that they do with an academy in conjunction to what they do with their local football teams will also allow them to grow at a quicker rate than otherwise.

Will the Academy improve my child's development?

Yes. Here at AAF we only focus on the most crucial aspects of a kids football development, that being, how to control, pass and shoot a ball with both feet. Without this 3 tiered approach your kid will be missing the most vital elements in their footballing career. Whilst football is our focus, we are passionate about instilling the right values into children from a young age to help them mature positively

What will the academy give my child that their club won't be giving them?

The main benefit your child will reap, that a club won’t focus on is their development and growth as a player on and off the field. Most football clubs focus on ‘winning’ games which makes their drills and practises very different to what we believe is most pivotal for youth aged between 8-14 years old. Come and train with us at the AAF and experience our football difference.

What is the location and training times of your academy?

Training is usually on Saturday’s from mid-day to early afternoon. Times change very infrequently and if they do, all parents are notified in advance. Our training facility is located at Cooke Park in Belfield. Parents are encouraged to stay and mingle with others and support their super star(s) through the sessions. Seating is in abundance and light snacks andrefreshments are also available
